Hunt for Pta East franchise robbers continues

The police are searching for six men who broke into and raided a fast food outlet in Mamelodi at the weekend.

The armed men broke into a KFC at Maxi City complex in Mahube in the early hours of Sunday morning.

“It is alleged that six men, armed with rifles, broke into the franchise store by smashing the glass doors with hammers,” said police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo.

He said the men managed to open a safe and took an undisclosed amount of money.

“The suspects fired several shots before fleeing the scene in a grey BMW X5.”

Shibambo said no one was injured during the robbery and the police were investigating.
