Cash-in-transit heist leaves three injured in Mams

Three people were injured during a cash-in-transit on Tuesday.

The robbery occurred at a shopping centre in Mamelodi.

“Upon arrival, paramedics discovered a security guard laying a few metres from his vehicle,” said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.

“The man sustained a gunshot wound to his chest and was found to be in a critical condition.”

Meiring said two bystanders had also been shot.

“Paramedics treated the patients and provided the critically injured man with advanced life support interventions.”

“All three patients were later transported to hospital for further treatment.”

According to reports, an unknown number of armed men attacked the security guard.

Meiring said the police were still investigating.
