Beware job scam: Tshwane metro

A advertisement for an admin clerk vacancy in the metropolitan municipality is a scam, the Tshwane metro said in a statement on Wednesday.

Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the notice was being circulated electronically people to an interview at 320 Madiba Street, Pretoria.

The message further requested individuals to provide an ID and a certified copy of a matric certificate.

“We urge the public to ignore the message as it is a scam,” said Mashigo.

“The city is appalled at scammers who prey on the emotions of unsuspecting job seekers by manufacturing information about the existence of job vacancies.”

He further urged the public to report bogus job adverts to the Tshwane metro police, and not to fall prey to solicitations by scammers.

He said the city only advertised vacant posts in newspapers and the Job Forum page on its website.
