Planned power supply interruption in Mamelodi

The City of Tshwane wishes to inform the residents of Mamelodi about a planned power supply interruption on 31 January and 01 February 2017 from 07:00 to 17:00 respectively.

The City’s Electricity department will carry out essential maintenance work at the Mamelodi – 3 Substation. This scheduled work entails the installation of new equipment in the substation to improve electricity capacity and reliability.

The following areas will be affected by the electricity supply interruption:


  • Mamelodi Phase 5
  • Mahube Valley Extension 3, 7, 8, 11, 12, 18, 20, 21, 22, 24, 29 and 30.


The effect that this interruption will have on the residents is absence of electric power to the areas on the stated days. During this period consumers are urged to treat all electrical apparatus as live. The City apologises for any inconvenience that might arise as a result of this scheduled work.
