If appointed, Mosola will take over from Lindiwe Kwele, who has been acting in the position of city manager since Jason Ngobeni resigned after the 3 August  2016 elections.

“Mosola is a brand management and communications expert with over 20 years experience in hospitality, tourism and sports management,” said Msimanga.

Msimanga said Mosola was the best candidate to steer the city in the right direction after years of financial mismanagement and allegations of cadre deployment.

“It was important that we ensure the [interview] process was flawless because it is ultimately in the best interest of the people of Tshwane, who ought to be at the apex of all our consciousness when making critical decisions and appointments,” he said.
