NEWSFLASH: Burst waterline causes chaos

A sinkhole has resulted in a road closure in Capital Park.

Sector Policing’s Mike Burd said the road was closed on the corner of Behrens and Trouw streets.

“One car got stuck in the early hours of Thursday morning. Traffic is being diverted into Van Heerden Street in the westbound direction,” Burd said.

“Four cars have been damaged since the sinkhole formed around 04:00 on Thursday morning.”

Burd said the sinkhole was caused by a burst waterline.

He said anyone using the Apies river low water bridge will be affected by the diversion.
