The family said it was as worried as Victor Mpanpisana Landane (47) also suffered from an anxiety disorder.

Victor, from Phase 5 in Mamelodi East, was last seen on 28 November around 09:00 wearing a red shirt, black trousers, white jacket, black boots and a cap.

His mother, Betty (67), said she had been to different hospitals searching for her son.

“Life is not the same without him at home. I can’t sleep with worry for his safety,” said Betty.

“We were expecting to see him home that evening and the following day, we went to a nearby tavern but only found the jacket and cap he had been wearing.”

Betty said she had searched different hospitals and mortuaries without success but had not lost hope of finding him alive.

She said her son was always smiling and quiet and loved by people.

Betty made this plea to her son if he had disappeared on his own volition: “My son please come back home, your family miss you.”

Captain Michael Mbewe confirmed a missing person charge had been laid at Mamelodi East police station on 3 December.
