32-Year-old man to appear in court again for armed robbery

The Kameeldrift police recently arrested a 36 years old man in Lusaka in the Mamelodi area for being in possession of suspected stolen goods and a stolen vehicle.
Sergeant Portia Maleka, spokesperson for the Kameeldrift police said the suspect is connected to a house robbery in the area.
Maleka said three suspects entered a small holding and took a white Mercedez Benz, a trailer packed with a music system, laptop, two cellphones and drove away.
She said the police picked up an activated tracker signal from the cell phone that was stolen and responded.
“Shots were fired but no one was injured,” Maleka said.
She said after a shootout police were able to arrest one suspect and the other two ran away.
“After further investigation, the suspect was linked with two other house break-ins that happened in Kameeldrift in the year 2016 and one case of malicious damage to property in Kameeldrift in 2013.
The arresred man, Sunnyboy David Lukhele, originally from Limpopo, but residing in Mamelodi east in Phomolong, appeared in the Mamelodi magistrate’s court for possession of stolen goods and stolen vehicle.”
Maleka said the suspect also appeared in the Cullinan magistrate court for two house break-in and malicious damage to property charges.
Lukhele remains in police custody and will appear in court again on 20 March.
