Wines, food and olives galore

Blank Canvas Studio, located in Lynnrodene hosted the launch of The Thyste Traveller event series on Wednesday night.

Those in attendance were treated to wine, olives and delicious food.

The guests shared the evening together, exploring tastes of Morgenster Wine and Olive Estate’s products.

Wednesday’s event kicked off The Thyste Traveller event series in style with a total of 27 guests.

Host and owner of Blank Canvas Studio Martine de Kock said The Thyste Traveller series was created to allow great food and wine lovers experience the boutique and family-owned wineries from across the country.

The Thyste Traveller’s name was chosen to honour my great grandfather Thys, who was a true inspiration.”

“This beautiful venue used to be my great grandfather’s (Thys) home. He travelled the globe to explore and experience the world’s culinary offerings, among many other things. I wanted to honour his memory by bringing people together to enjoy good food, wine and company,” she said.

Chefs Renette and Emile Vosloo from Rooitamatie Gastehuis, cooked a delicious 4-course Italian-style dinner for the guests.

Guests were impressed with not only the quality and flavours of the wine and food, but also with the generous portions that were offered.

De Kock said The Thyste Traveller’s next destination will showcase wines from Holden Manz from Franschhoek.

“They will showcase their wines at Blank Canvas Studio in Lynnrodene on 21 June.”
