Jacaranda day comes alive

Thousands of people flocked to the Voortrekker monument amphitheatre
for Jacaranda Day on Saturday afternoon.

The eight-hour music spectacular featured a star-studded line up which
included Karen Zoid, Francois van Coke, Dr.Victor, Mango Groove and
many more.

The Jacaranda Day, associated with Gumtree, is one of the biggest
annual concerts around the Gauteng region.

People of all ages enjoyed the variety of music which ranged from
house, Afrikaans pop to rock music.

Jacaranda presenters joined the A-list line up as they kept
entertaining their loyal listeners.

Station general manager Kevin Fine said the concert was created to
bring people more music they love.

“The musical spectacle, in its sixth year, is acclaimed for bringing
music lovers together. Each year, people flock in their thousands to
Jacaranda Day,” said Fine.

“This year features another A-list line-up and will definitely be one
for the books.”

He said the concert was suitable for all ages and all were invited to attend.

“It’s a full day of top tunes for the whole family to enjoy,”.

Concert goer Francois Prinsloo said the Jacaranda Day gave back to
loyal listeners.

“Music lovers get a chance to watch their favourite singers perform
annually at this event. The line-up is fantastic,” he said.
