Nine robbed at a guest house in the east

A Cape Town couple were among the nine people robbed at a guest house in Faerie Glen on Tuesday.

The robbery happened at Elonda Bed & Breakfast in Mississippi Street around 08:00.

Police spokesperson Captain Ilze Jones said the two guesthouse owners, their employees and guests were tied up during the robbery.

“The two armed robbers took valuable items, including jewellery, before they fled the scene in a rental vehicle,” said Jones.

“One of the guests managed to press the panic button and ADT went to the scene to untie the victims.”

Jones said no one was seriously hurt during the robbery.

“The rental vehicle was later recovered by police.”

“A case of robbery was opened at the Garsfontein SAPS.”

Jones said no arrests had been made yet.
