It focused on substance abuse, drugs, dangerous weapons, hijackings and abandoned buildings.
Selepe said these offences were the root cause of high crime in the inner city.
“Eighteen suspects were arrested for possession of drugs and 14 illegal immigrants were also arrested in the CBD.”
Selepe said 14kg of copper were seized during the operation.

“In another crime, one suspect was arrested for attempted armed business robbery on Church Street on Sunday,” she said.
“It is alleged that four male suspects entered Fix store and pointed a firearm at a security member. Security intercepted, called for help and three suspects fled.”
One of them was grabbed by a bystander, who handed the culprit over.
Nothing was stolen and no one was hurt, said Selepe.
