Delicious food, wine, coffee and loads of inspiration. This was the theme of the morning at our Get It Pretoria Magazine Eat, Live Love event that took place at the Capital Hotel School today.

The morning was kicked off with the most decadent Tiramisu cake from Chateau Gateaux paired with Amaretto coffee whereafter guests were inspired with a talk from Leni Hamilton from Hikers Paradise about setting goals (a bucket list if you will) and achieving those goals.

Next up was a lesson about spices, given by Geet Indian Restaurant’s and top-ranking Indian chef in India and South Africa, Gita Jivan.

“The identification of spice is the identification of your soul,” Gita explained.

Pretoria’s own spice-guru showed guests how to identify different spices and how to identify with it.
Did you know that turmeric can be used as a natural antibiotic? Simply rub it onto a cut and it will seal the wound – no need for stitches.

Zoowear slippers, an online store, spoiled one lucky reader with a pair of elephant slippers to keep her feet warm this winter.

Gita showed guests how to cook Chicken Biryani and Dal Makhani and paired it with Barnardt Boyes and Carrol Boyes Red and White Dorp Street wines.

To add to the theme of love, Maryke Groenewald from Life Purpose Coaching spoke a bit about finding love.

And to round off the morning, guests indulged in a traditional Indonesian dish called Nasi Goreng paired with Papillon Chardonnay Pinot Noir Brut Sparkling Wine.
