The Tshwane metro police condemned motorists driving recklessly.
This follows after another video went viral showing two taxi drivers driving on the wrong side of the road to avoid traffic on January Masilela Drive.
Metro police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said they were aware of similar problems that occurs daily
“It is not only in this specific area, it happens all over Pretoria,” he said.
“We have been saying as law enforcers that most accidents are caused due to human error, this being one of those examples.”
“We condemn this bad driving and it is not allowed on our roads.”
He said they were trying to deploy metro police officers in all those areas that are affected from time to time.
“Depending on other commitments we might have as the department, we also engaging other law enforcement agencies to assist,” he said.
He said they have already arrested a taxi driver in Moot Street, west of the city.

Mahamba said the driver was sentenced to six months in jail this month.
The driver also received a fine of R4000 and his driver’s licence will be suspended for a year.
“We will do the same with other offenders and arrest them for negligent and reckless driving,” he said.
This was not the first time this week that a video went viral about negligent taxi drivers.
Earlier this week, a video was shared over social media showing a biker in Bryanston‚ Johannesburg stopping a taxi driver that drove on the wrong side of the road.
